I took the name Recovery Week seriously. I have been doing a lot of stretching, Ibuprofening, resting and another massage. It has been slow but I have had some good results from this program. Most of the issues have resolved and it is now Monday and time to get back to my training. I will stretch carefully before running tonight and then again after. The distance is 3 and 4 miles alternated during the week and 8 on the weekend. If my running goes well during the week, the 8 should be doable by Saturday (pace slow distance long). My running shoes think I deserted them. Spirits and feet up tonight!

well, that's the point of the recovery week after all. my coach says that the training schedule is built in a way that there is plenty of time to build and get stronger and in case there are boo boos or illnesses along the way, there is time built in for that too. i am supposed to do 3 miles tonight, but my swelling tonsils have decided otherwise. made that mistake last time, shall follow in your foot steps and actually recover before pushing on. good luck with getting back in the saddle, the shoes must be happy to hit the road again!
Glad to hear you took a real recovery week.
Have you looked any further into finding a yoga class near you? I have decided that 4 days in a row of running is just too hard on the body. I plan to switch it up with a cross training day of yoga every week (either Tuesday or Wednesday). As a bonus, Frank said he would go with me!
Let me know if you need help finding a place or you want me to take a look at someplace for you.
